Privacy & Trust
This page is maintained by Joe Bloggs to answer common privacy and security questions about News From The Street. It describes the practices in place today and is not an independent certification or audit.
What this site is
News From The Street is a personal blog. Readers can browse posts without signing in. Posting and editing are restricted to the blog owner via an authenticated sign-in.
Data we collect
- Readers: no account is required to read posts. We do not ask readers for personal information.
- Authors: the blog owner signs in with an email address to create and edit posts. That email is used only for authentication.
- Server logs: standard request logs may be retained by our hosting provider for operational and security purposes.
How your data is protected
The site is served over HTTPS. Author accounts and post data are stored in a managed backend with row-level access controls so that only the blog owner can create, edit, or delete posts. Passwords are handled by the managed authentication provider and are never stored by the application directly.
Cookies and tracking
The site uses essential cookies and local storage only where needed to keep the blog owner signed in. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.
Subprocessors
The site relies on third-party infrastructure providers for hosting, authentication, and database storage. These providers process data on our behalf strictly to operate the site.
Your choices
If you are an author and want your account or content removed, get in touch and we will action the request. Readers can clear cookies and local storage from their browser at any time.
